Ledgent is currently partnering with a client located in the Denver Tech Center who is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist- Payments on a temp to hire basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently process a variety of payment types, including:
- Manual check issuance
- ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions
- Wire transfer entries
- Ensure all disbursements, voids, and reissues are properly researched, supported, and documented.
- Monitor the banking portal daily to verify successful ACH transactions and address any rejected payments.
- Maintain accurate records of all payments and ACH transactions.
- Assist with daily reconciliation of checkbooks.
- Manage and clear all void check requests by the end of each week.
- Handle and track daily FedEx shipments related to same-day payments.
- Comply strictly with company and accounts payable policies and procedures, as well as all information systems security protocols. Attend IT security training sessions and report any concerns or violations.
- Support implementation of new processes and special projects as needed.
- Due to the critical nature of this role, strong attendance is essential. Employees must be present and available to work at least 98% of scheduled shifts.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of professional experience in high-volume payment processing, with a focus on disbursements.
- Prior accounts payable experience is essential.
- Familiarity with online banking platforms preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience with Oracle or a comparable automated AP system is a plus.
- Solid understanding of disbursement procedures and banking operations related to AP.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and Access.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Capable of working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
